The Reedy River at Cedar Falls: A great example of the river shoals we have in this part of the country. Shoals were an early source of power, so communities grew up around them. There was a small dam here as early as 1820, powering a woolen mill and a saw mill. In 1920, a much larger dam fed an electric generator to power a textile mill. Cedar Falls Park, Fountain Inn, SC
